I have to say this cover is the best thing I've seen in years. Wonderful to see Varian shown as he is portrayed in the story. I can't tell you how this satisfies me. Too often publishers mess up the cover and it doesn't reflect the character portrayed. That bugs me to no end. THANK YOU for such a wonderful cover!!

This is a love story between a human and a human/demon (Na'Chi). Between a woman of faith and a scout that has more than his share of inner demons. It's a story of survival, how two races can learn to tolerate each other and work together. Nothing is ever easy. Kymora is strong in her faith, loved by her people, confident, yet willing to show her fears and vulnerabilites. For Varian it's about deciding what's best for his people no matter the cost, learning to adapt, being able to show emotion and that it isn't a weakness as he was taught all his life. Kylie Griffin handled the balance between the two perfectly.

I kept hoping to hear more on Arek's capture. He had a concussion and they were forcing him to run/walk? Yeah I kept thinking about that. I'm left wondering why no one from the city went back to recover Arek's body. If they had they'd know he's alive. That was my main disappointment with this story. So on that note, I am sure the next book will be about Arek. I hope.

My other question was about the Templer Elect amulet. Kymora gives up her office. Then in one sentence she notices Varian wearing "the necklace that used to be hers". So is Varian now the Templer Elect? That just didn't make sense. If he is, he'd have to have the full approval of the temple and voted on. I can't see that happening because he isn't very strong in following the Lady.

At least I thought the Templer Elect's amulet was different from the rest because Kymora specifically said the amulet he was wearing was hers. Maybe these necklaces all look the same. So that just left me puzzled and questioning.

Anyway, fantastic series, I enjoyed both books and really looking forward to the next one. !! - Dan's wife

The 2nd book in the series continues the promise of the first novel, great characters a solid storyline and an enjoyment of the senses, a great read for anyone , looking forward to reading the third book
This was another great installment in this series I am loving this world and the strength of all the characters. Kymora and Varian have been through so much and the adventure to their HEA is filled with such love and caring loved it fantastic book
Kylie Griffin continues to amaze in Alliance Forged with her captivating world building. She develops the relationships formed in Vengeance Born, and whilst Alliance Forged is centred on different main characters, the people we've already fallen in love with are still key players in this second book.

Again, even having read this book before, I found myself invested in the different characters, enthralled by their journeys and wasn't able to put the book down before I'd finished it.

Very much looking forward to Allegiance Sworn in April.
Arguably the best of the three books. Griffin does not disappoint to tell a tale of love and acceptance. Beautifully written.
About the reader I love books that have good action, some romance, vivid imagery and above all a well formed plot that leaves me hanging...with good grammar and expression to deliver it. My favorite series is the Black Dagger Brotherhood, by J.R. Ward.

About the book (no spoilers)
Alliance Forged is a good book and the author is creative, bringing to life a captivating world full of well developed characters - each with their own unique personalities and engaging dialog. I loved where the author was going with the story line and will probably buy the 3rd book when it comes out (assuming one is written). I don't want to spoil anything, so I will just say that I felt like I was part of the journey and it was very easy to picture everything going on. Scenery, fragrances, moods, sounds...it's all there. Some personality traits of characters even made me chuckle at times.

I will offer a few critiques though (which really started to annoy me half way into the book). For starters, there are two words which are just repeated WAY too often "aura" and "smell". There were maybe 50+ kindle pages in a row where "aura" was used at least once on each page. I didn't search out the exact number of uses, but it added up. There is also a character with great sense of smell, but...I really didn't want to read about *every* scent. Some of them yes - it adds to the description. But too much is too much. I wanted to focus on the plot more than the smells, yet the plot (and pace of the book) kept getting interrupted by these narrative breaks to describe the different aromas. That was really the only thing that pulled me 'out' of the book. Otherwise, I was captivated.

My wishes for this author
1) Reduce word redundancy, and have faith that you did a great job developing the characters (I already know what they are thinking and sensing because you developed their personalities very well).

2) Characters would be brought to life a little better with more personal exclamations, vs. narrative descriptions. For example, instead of describing what he *smells* when he opens the doors to the room, let him exclaim, "I knew I'd find you in here, you rank demon!" Why? Because I already know what the demon smells like, it's been described before.
